Mental Health on Facebook live

I have recorded my first Facebook live event and do you believe I was the speaker...oh my god that was unexplainable experience....
“Khud ko dekh kar baatein karni hoti hai camera mein.........and you don’t know who’s watching you....Kaun karta hai aise....pahle ka time hota to kahte Khud se baatein kar rai hai...pukka kuch gadbad hai (can’t use that pa... words as a mental Helath professional we are not supposed to)”. The time has changed and so the way of reaching people also.  Hope very soon I will get used to this. 

This time again we selected the topic - “A step towards Happiness”. Thanks to organizers they agreed to switch from Stress to Happiness (inspired by earlier blog). It was a great interactive session talking about how to find happiness in everyday things....how can we practice on strengthening happiness quotient and reducing stress quotient. One finding in 2016 by Mr. Udaya Chandra, that I would like to share with all, is that India stands 118th out of 156 countries listed as Global Nations in terms of Happiness Index. That was not a good status, the reason may be that people in India are more conditioned for stress then happiness. 

It’s our choice, what we chose from the life...which emotion stands on priority for us - “Happiness over anger/ anxiety/ sadness” Happiness is an emotion which is inside us and work as an effective medicine for all stressors, sadness and depression. It gives you inner strength to bear the strongest pains. 

Few important Take home notes of the video were: 
1. Identify your feelings and emotions of happiness with equal priority like you identify with your stressors 
2. Do write about your happy experinces and share them with words of emotions 
3. Do share your sadness but identify the right person for the same. Reaching to right person decreases your pain to almost 50%
4. Training your Brain to be happy need no specific success...no dependence on other persons....it’s within you...identify your own HAPPY methods
5. Don’t mix your achievement index with happiness quotient. Happiness is emotion and underachievers deserves to feel equally happy....if I am not wrong all achievement doesn’t bring happiness always.....
6. Overthinking is not bad...thinking constructive and positive need to be developed. 
7. Define happiness everyday...like for me Happiness is dancing, giving gifts, kissing my daughter’s forehead.....etc etc 
8. And last - All emotions are within us so it’s okay to be NOT OKAY (sad, angry, anxious fearful)
